Merakey (formerly NHS) –  School for autistic children and young adults 

Merakey opened their first school in Lancaster in Septemer 2017,  and expects to service 50+ children/young adults ages 5-21 on the autism spectrum.

The Emerald Foundation “E” Partnership Program:

We are also hosting weekly and as needed partnered non-profit programming at greatly reduced or free space. Current programming includes:

 Learning support for children and adults with intellectual disabilities

Utilizing the building in collaboration with local schools to teach life skills such as cleaning, basic cooking, set up and tear down of events, mailings etc.

 After-school education and feeding program 2017/2018 school year

After a very successful pilot program in 2017, the after school program will be expanded to include up to 60 2nd-6th grade students for 2017-2018 school year.  These students will be hand selected by the principals and Manheim Township School District provide academic enrichment, as well as social and recreational activities to children that would not otherwise have this access.  Enrichment programming include Drug Prevention programming from Caron for both the children and their parents, tennis lessons from Tennis Central, and several music and arts programs.  Food will be provided by the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank.
