Hometown Heroes

Columbia School District is building champions, one student at a time. The team is developing a culture of making an impact on students.

Named as Columbia Borough School District Superintendent in January 2018, Tom is the first “non-traditional” superintendent in Lancaster County. He has experience as Director of Operations for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and has been in executive positions with several corporations. Tom was recently selected to participate in the Pennsylvania Secretary of Education’s Academy Cohort 3. He has received the Distinguished Leadership Award from Millersville University and several other civic awards and honors. He has served on several Boards, including Junior Achievement, Lancaster General Community Service, Lancaster Community Foundation, and Columbia Education Foundation.

Tom is married to Angela and has three sons, Ryan, Andrew, and Brandon; a grandson, Jaxson; and a granddaughter, Paisley.

The Emerald Foundation recognizes and thanks Tom for his leadership in helping to bring STEM-focused eSports programming to Central Pennsylvania.
