Hometown Heroes

Ann Barshinger and her late husband, Richard, have been dedicated to philanthropic endeavors throughout their lifetimes. Ann has continued to support the Lancaster and York County communities as well as other local communities. Ann generously supports education through scholarships at F & M College, Millersville University, Thaddeus Stevens College, York Country Day School, Lancaster Theological Center, Pennsylvania College of Art & Design, Messiah College and The Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. Ann was the primary contributor of the Science Building at F & M College and the Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute.

She is compassionate toward the homeless, abused and less fortunate with contributions to the YWCA, Make a Wish Foundation, Clare House, Hospice, United Disabilities Services, Aaron’s Acres, Visioncorps and many others. She has a heart for a strong cultural climate in the community. Some of her contributions include Fulton Opera House, Lancaster Symphony Orchestra and Rock Ford Foundation

Ann’s warm and friendly nature has made it a delight to know her.
