Liguori Academy is a private non-profit high school in Philadelphia with a focus on the student as a whole and their individual needs. The students benefit from an education program that is individualized, flexible, and technology driven with a foundation built on ambition, curiosity, individuality, integrity and resiliency.  With the assistance of the Emerald Foundation and their flagship initiative, Emerald Esports, Liguori built an eSports lab.

The Emerald Foundation donated the gaming computers and the Emerald Esports initiative team provided the installation of the equipment and incubation of the eSports club.  This creative space gives Liguori students the opportunity to build skills in collaboration, teamwork, communication, strategy development, entrepreneurism, and digital literacy through gaming. These skills translate over to future career paths in STEM.  The Founder and CEO of the Emerald Foundation, Joseph Besecker and the Executive Director of the Emerald Foundation, Martha Besecker were honored at a luncheon on September 23 at Liguori Academy for their foundation’s (Emerald’s) contribution of equipment and advisement on the eSports program.
